A little bummed...

So work has been pretty slow lately. Since I just got off orientation last week I hardly ever got called off, but a lot of my co-workers had been using all their vacation time just to get by. Well, last week my supervisor gave us the opportunity to cross train in other areas of the hospital in orders to get our hours. Of course with bills to pay I jumped at the opportunity. So today I went to a meeting, to what I thought was to go over the specifics. Well, it turns out that I pretty much got transferred to the MedSurg unit until Labor and Delivery picks back up. At first I was upset, just because I felt like I was just getting comfortable where I was, and now I have to start all over again. To be honest MedSurg really scares me. You have 6-7 patients and they can all have a different diagnosis and gobs of meds. So I start tomorrow, hopefully it will go OK. I know I am lucky to have a job, it just really caught me off guard and I really did love what I was doing. I am just going to try and keep a good attitude, and hopefully everything will go fine. One good thing is that I get to orient on days instead of nights, and probably even get a day position when I'm off orientation. Hopefully labor and delivery will pick up soon, so I can get back to what I love!

Looking forward to the New Year!

Well 2009 is officially here. I still can't believe it, and find myself still writing 08. We had a wonderful Christmas with our family. Berlin got so much stuff, I couldn't even keep up with what she got. We started Christmas off, just us and let B open her gifts. She seems pretty excited about the candy cane!

She finally got the Tinkerbell movie she's been asking for!

Later that morning my mom and siblings came over for breakfast and gifts. It was so much fun. I really LOVED having Christmas at my house. I wasn't even stressed about cooking the food (maybe because mom had already prepared most of her dishes ahead of time, and I just had to throw them in the oven). We all ate way too much, but we look forward to that meal all year long! Here are my nieces Natalie and Megan with Berlin opening their gifts, it was a little crazy. I loved watching their faces light up with each gift.
Jake, my husband, opening his gift from his "Secret Santa".

My brother Brandon!

My brother Brad!

My Mommy and sis Julie

Max's seems to like his gift!

My beautiful birdhouse from Sarah and Donnie! I can't wait to get it hung up!

Sarah has a Paris theme in her house, I love that picture!

Berlin at Nana's and Pop-Pop's, aka Jake's parents. I had a really bad migraine, so I was a little late. I hate that I missed everyone opening their gifts, but at least Jake got some good pictures. Berlin got this great easel from her Uncle Will and Aunt Andrea.

My little family Christmas 2008! I look a little rough, I had just got up from a nap and rushed over!

Will and Andrea, their first Christmas as husband and wife!

She loves her new Aunt!

The day after Christmas I got called off from work. I needed to work for the money, but really I didn't mind because I got to spend the whole day with Berlin. She looked so cute in her dress up clothes. I really don't think I could love anyone more!

I can't believe how big she is getting. It is bittersweet. She is so much fun, and amazes me at how smart and funny she is. But she is just growing up way too fast! It just makes me realize how precious time is, and all the stuff I want to do with her. Hopefully we can start dance classes soon, I know she will love it.

I'm pretty sure she will always be a girly girl. What a priss in those shoes with her legs crossed. She cracks me up!

I love this little girl xoxo!

Well I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Hopefully it will snow sometime soon, I really want to go sledding! Really though I am looking forward to Spring! Berlin's bday is coming up, so I need to start planning that. She wants to have a "Tea Party", I can't wait. I want it to be really girly and pretty. I started working nights (7pm to 7am) this week. The first night was bad, but the second was ok. It just makes it hard because I sleep during the day, and that takes up time from being with Jake and B. We will make it work though. I really do LOVE my job, so that also makes it easier. Also, today is my sister Sarah's birthday. She is such a great sis and friend. I hope she has a wonderful birthday, and can't wait till we get to celebrate it together.
